GET FUNDED

Before The Business, There Was
A Reason. This Is That Part.

Capitalize Funding didn't start as a company with a polished mission statement. It started as a person who understood what it feels like to carry the weight of a business, the weight of timing, and the weight of responsibility, all at once.

This is the part nobody writes. So we did.

Established 2014

Funding With Heart

Because every business has a story.

We Grew Up, But We Never Forgot Where We Started.

Our first investment wasn't in a stock or a bond. It was in a sibling.

Twelve years ago, while building the foundation for Capitalize Funding, our founder's baby sister was starting her own journey as a freelance artist. To support her first commission, she hired her to create our mascot.

She gave us Pigmo—the scrappy little pig that ended up meaning more than we expected.

Pigmo was the face of our very first website. He represented everything we were trying to build: a place where small business owners could find the support they needed to grow.

As we grew into a national firm, Pigmo "grew up" with us, into the more "professional" pig across our site today. But we keep his original 2014 portrait close by to remind us of our roots: supporting the big dreams of small businesses.

2014

It started with a sibling and a piggy bank.

While building the foundation for Capitalize Funding, our founder hired her younger sister—a brand-new freelance artist — for her first paid commission: a mascot. Pigmo was born. Pink, scrappy, and on the home page of our very first website.

2015

The first one hundred businesses.

By the end of year one, we'd helped a hundred small businesses get funded — restaurants, salons, contractors, mechanics. The kind of operations the big banks wouldn't touch and the online lenders treated like spreadsheets.

WHAT WE LEARNED
Not all funding is helpful just because it's approved. We saw the difference early—between deals that solve problems and deals that create new ones.
2019

Pigmo grows up.

We rebranded. The scrappy 2014 piggy got polished into the pig you see across our site now. But we kept his original portrait in our files—and in our office—as a reminder of where we came from.

2020

The year everyone needed funding.

Our phones didn't stop ringing. Our team didn't stop answering. We funded businesses through PPP gaps, through closed dining rooms, through everything. We didn't sleep much, but we didn't lose anyone either.

WHY IT MATTERED
This is when "we'll always take your call" stopped being a marketing slogan and became a literal promise our team kept.
2023

We almost grew the wrong way.

By this point, we'd seen enough to know the difference. Growth for the sake of growth doesn't build anything—it just makes mistakes bigger. We chose to build something that holds up instead.

A CHOICE WE MADE
Stay small. Stay close to the work. Hire only when a real person on a real call would be better off for it.
2026

The same idea. Twelve years deep.

We're female-founded, small by design, and still funding with heart. Because every business has a story—and the right funding at the right time can make all the difference in how that story plays out.

WHAT COMES NEXT
More of the same, honestly. Not bigger for the sake of it. Better where it matters. And built to hold up long after the deal is done.
